Bay Leaves (Laurus nobilis) are the leaves from the Bay Evergreen Tree that is commonly found in the Mediterranean region, though originally the tree was probably from Asia minor. Bay Leaves were used across the ancient world. In Greece and Rome Bay Leaves were used to make Crowns of Laurel for athletes and poets. Hand selected Bay Leaves are dull green, about 2-1/2" long and the jar contains 85 Whole Bay Leaves. These leaves are used to add a tangy, earthy flavor to a recipe.
Suggested Use:
Use in place of whole leaves in soups, pickling, fish dishes, tomato juice and sauces and pot roast.
